Comedores – Childrens’ Soup Kitchens
I was hungry and you gave me to eat…
In several poor neighborhoods we have comedores (soup kitchens) for malnourished children or children in danger of being malnourished. The children come from marginated families, single mothers or families without work.
While we continue our services in the established soup kitchens, we are aware of other places where the little children, the favored ones of our Foundress, Blessed Mary Catherine Kasper, might need our support.
The social workers assess the health, educational and psychological needs of the families on an ongoing basis and offers services or referrals.
Enrichment classes, such as English, are offered to the children before or after the meal. During the summer there are special programs of two or three weeks.
Would you like to help these families and receive the gift of a beautiful smile?
