The Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ through their not-for profit “Las Obras de Catalina, A.C.” opened their newest work, Casa Catalina, in Coatzacoalcos in May, 2012.

Casa Catalina (Catherine’s House) is a place for people in the terminal phase of AIDS who have no family support, and a temporary shelter for women who are abandoned. Professionals, employees, and volunteers work in the center.

Bishop Rutilo Muñoz Zamora, of the diocese of Coatzacoalcos, presided at the blessing on May 21, 2012. The Poor Handmaids are very grateful to all friends and benefactors who made this work possible.
